Clint, Mr. and Mrs. Matthews, your guides and Vergie aka: Captain, four, Chief and soon to be Sheriff?… Oh yeah, forgot the big white sentry dog welcoming committe!

Thanks so much from all of us for a super hunt and all that goes with it! Very well run professional service and we know it is hard work to put on a hunt like you do. We appreciate your effort and expertise in setting up the spread and calling to work the geese. Seeing geese work like they do when your group is calling is magnificent, never heard anything like it before! Our group enjoyed ourselves and have all agreed to book another hunt this year. We look forward to another successful hunt with Goose Guides, Inc.

Thanks again for your effort!

We hunted with Goose Guides, Inc. on 12/27/09 and had a great hunt. Our party limited out on specklebelly geese by 8:00 AM. Clint really knows his stuff, and he and his crew worked hard to make our hunt successful. I’ll never hunt geese with anyone else.

Once again Clint Matthews and his crew of hard working guides produced a great hunt for our annual hunting trip with Goose Guides Inc. In less than two hours on the morning of December 22nd we collected our limit of twenty – two specklebelly geese.

I have to credit Clints pre-hunt preparation and great calling for the success of the hunt.

I believe that I could say it best by simply saying: “It was the type of hunt that made the memories of a lifetime”. I was joined in the hunt with my oldest son and my three grandsons. Even though, we had worked ourselves up with high expectations talking about the upcoming hunt on the ride down to Kaplan, we were pleasantly surprised not only with the professional and caring guides, but also by the vast numbers of geese that we witnessed on our two day hunt in December of 2009. Clint and his guides were masters at working the geese from high in the sky down to within shooting range. I was so amazed by the number of geese in a “tornado” that Clint called in on day two that I started giggling like a little kid. The excitement was just indescribable!

In two days we shot 17 speckle bellies and 4 Snows. But, the highlight for the two day trip was the last bird of the hunt which was shot out of the air by my nine year old grandson with a 20 gauge shotgun. Clint called that single “speckle belly” down but as I threw up to shoot he said, “Wait… let it come closer” and I am so glad that he did! He slowly called that single down within reach of my grandson’s twenty gauge. As soon as he (Joseph) shot the speck, it fell out of the air and immediately every one of us including all of the guides jumped up from a lying down position and yelled “that was so awesome”! Clint then marked Joseph’s face with goose blood to mark his transition into a “master goose hunter”.
I hope these words relate to whoever reads this just how much of a great time that we had with Clint and his team at Goose Guides. We will be back, but we will never forget the memories of a lifetime that we had on that two day hunt!

Thanks Clint!

Clint, the boys and I want to once again thank you for the wonderful hunt. It was only by your teams efforts to convince those suspicious birds down within range that we were able to make kills. It seems that these birds are getting much smarter every year and without optimum conditions it is easy to see why the other ‘guides’ come up empty. Watching you speak to them trying to change their minds was the best part of the morning. We will certainly be booking with you for an early hunt next year and if time allows, I will see you again near the end of this season. Note: I never knew you could claim speaking goose as a second language. Good luck and good hunting.

stepsCLINT, I WANT TO THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR A SPECTACULAR HUNT THIS WEEKEND. I HAVE BEEN ALL OVER THE PLACE HUNTING GEESE BUT NEVER HAVE HAD A GOOD TIME LIKE THE HUNT WE HAD THIS WEEKEND. CAN’T WAIT TO COME AGAIN NEXT YEAR. BE SAFE AND HAVE A GOOD YEAR. ALSO THANK ALL YOUR GUIDES FOR THE GREAT HUNT AND GOOD JOB THEY DID.

groupFinally an outfit that goes the extra mile to give a hunter his moneys worth. These guys by far are the best guides I’ve ever spent money with, and I’ve spent a lot in Louisiana. These guys are putting out decoy spreads before you even get up out of bed and if you close your eyes while in that field hunting, with the multiple experienced callers they have, you think you are sitting in the middle of a feild full of geese. This is what you call a in your face hunt. THEY ARE THAT DARN GOOD!! Every thing and every body involved with this hunt was outstanding, from the food to the hunt, it all was class A. In fact I enjoyed it so much that I booked again to hunt in 2 weeks. Spend your money here, you won’t be disappointed.

white-headI have been hunting with various goose guides in the general area over the years and never had a lot of luck. It takes a lot of hard work and skill to bring in geese, your typical guide won’t put in the work necessary to trick the geese. These guys get up early and set out huge spreads of decoys and rags. They also have numerous guides calling the geese at the same time. Without the combination of huge spreads and skilled callers, it is very difficult to trick geese into coming into shooting distance. I was personally impressed and we were able to take our limits two days in a row. Watching the geese come in and check out the spreads, and then come in for a good shot is very exciting and we were able to experience this over and over on both of our hunts. I can promise you that these guys will put out 110% effort in order to score a successful hunt.
